About Us

                                                                        Dr. YaQar founded Alpha and Omega HIV/AIDS Foundation and Health Initiatives International, Inc. in 1994.  Alpha and Omega HIV/AIDS Foundation and Health Initiatives International, Inc.  is a grassroots organization in DeKalb County, Georgia which focuses on the Prevention and Education of HIV/AIDS.  She primarily used churches as a conduit because she knew that a congregation is a microcosm, or a miniature copy of the whole community.

        The mission of Alpha and Omega HIV/AIDS Foundation and Health Initiatives International, Inc., a Faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in our communities.  Dr. YaQar strongly advocates education as the primary agent to ultimately “slay the giant.” Our people die because of what they do not know.

        As a result of the leadership and vision of Dr. YaQar,  Alpha and Omega HIV/AIDS Foundation and Health Initiatives International, Inc.  has conducted many prevention teachings, seminars, and conferences all over the United States and in Africa.  The White House, both Democratic and Republican Presidents have recognized Alpha and Omega for model community outreach within the state, county, and local governments.  University Periodicals, magazines, and newspapers have lauded Alpha and Omega publishing articles, statistics, and teachings pertaining to the Foundation.

         With the understanding that our communities are plagued with many other diseases, Alpha and Omega has branched out to become an organization that addresses other health disparities: Diabetes, heart disease, depression, cancer, mental health, hypertension and obesity are a few health concerns in which Alpha and Omega has added to her agenda.

          One of Dr. YaQar’s motto is, “You don’t have any problems, all you need is Faith in God.”  We must realize that faith entails work.  When we begin to work towards  gaining education, prevention, and advocacy, we will walk in total healing.
